Profile

I have been working in the hospitality industry since the age of 16. I studied International Hospitality Management at Oxford Brookes University, graduating with a 2:1 Hons including a placement year at the Paris Marriott. After university I started working as a Restaurant Manager for Conran Restaurants in Birmingham before moving to Marriott Hotels in the same role. After a ski season in France I moved to Oxford as Food and Beverage Manager for Malmaison. The mountains called again so I moved to France for 3 winters, first as a Hotel Manager and then as an Area Manager for Esprit, Ski Total and Inghams. Upon moving back to the UK in 2012 I undertook my teaching qualification at Birmingham City University, completing a placement at a college in Birmingham. I joined UCB in January 2014 as a Food Service Lecturer and have since worked across College of Food and The Business School both at FE and HE level. I am passionate about the hospitality industry and enjoy passing on my enthusiasm to the new generation of hospitality managers.

Teaching

I lecture in HE across Foundation, Undergraduate and Postgraduate course, on subjects such as Human Resources, Managing Event Hospitality and Restaurant Practical Skills.
